Consultation
Your journey to a contoured body begins with a one-on-one consultation with our powerhouse surgeon, Dr. Hunsicker.
She will conduct a medical examination, review your medical history, and answer any of your questions. If VASER® liposuction in Denver, CO is the right next step, we’ll schedule your pre-op appointment and set a surgery date that works for you.
Pre-Op
Typically, we’ll see you for a pre-op visit 2 weeks before your procedure.
During this time, Dr. Hunsicker will finalize your surgical plan and walk you through what to expect. You’ll receive a surgical package including Hibiclens surgical scrub, probiotics, scar cream, and other essentials to support your healing journey.
Surgery & Follow-Up
On surgery day, we ask that you arrive 2 hours early so you can settle in and prepare.
After your procedure, you’ll receive post-op medication and antibiotics to ease recovery. We’ll also schedule a next-day follow-up so Dr. Hunsicker can check your progress, answer any new questions, and ensure you’re healing smoothly.

Pre-Care Instructions
Medications
Avoid taking blood thinners like aspirin and ibuprofen 2 weeks before your surgery. Also avoid herbal supplements that may negatively impact your recovery.
Diet
Maintain a balanced diet of nutrient-rich foods. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your surgery. Do not eat or drink anything past midnight the night before your surgery.
Lifestyle
Do not smoke or drink alcohol before your surgery. Shower with an antibacterial soap before your procedure.
Post-Care Instructions
Pain Management
Take prescribed medication as directed. You may take over-the-counter medication like Tylenol.
What to Avoid
Continue avoiding NSAIDs. Do not engage in strenuous activity. Avoid hot tubs, swimming pools, bathtubs, or any environment where your body is submerged.
Healing

FAQ
Who is an ideal candidate for VASER® liposuction?
In general, candidates for liposuction should be younger, nonsmoking adults with stable body weight and skin that retains elasticity. Liposuction is not a weight loss method and is rarely suitable for obese patients.
How do you perform the procedure?
Before the procedure, we provide a local or general anesthetic. Dr. Hunsicker then makes a small incision near the specified area. After injecting tumescent fluid to help minimize bleeding, she will insert a tiny VASER® device that uses gentle ultrasonic energy to aid the fat removal process.
She will direct a small tube through the incision and remove the fat from your body. VASER® liposuction can take between 1 to 2 hours in an outpatient setting.
What is recovery like?
Initial swelling and discomfort will subside after a few days. Dr. Hunsicker may prescribe antibiotics to limit the risk of postoperative infection.
We provide a surgical compression garment for you to wear for 3 weeks. You must refrain from heavy lifting and exercise. Over time, the incision lines will fade, leaving faint scars.
