During this 60-minute meeting, we will review your medical history, discuss your goals for surgery, and introduce you to our surgeon and her surgery expectations. She will ensure your mammogram is up to date and may order bloodwork. Pre-Care Instructions
We provide probiotics and surgical medication to keep you comfortable and reduce the risk of complications post-surgery. Speak with your primary care provider before taking any new medications.
Preparing your home to promote a safe and comfortable recovery is crucial. Keep your chest elevated with pillows to avoid putting unnecessary strain on your body. Take time off from work and other activities as recommended by our doctor.
Post-Care Instructions
Arrange for transportation on the day of your surgery and the next day for your follow-up. Our numbing medicine can last up to 3 days. Contact Dr. Hunsicker immediately if you experience bleeding, nausea, or vomiting.
Do not lift, push, or pull anything weighing over 10 lbs for at least 6 weeks. Putting strain on your body can disrupt your incision. You should also avoid lifting your arms, sleeping on your stomach and/or sides, and any physical activity while recovering.
Healing is a long journey. Be sure to attend all your post-op follow-up visits. It’s normal to experience bruising and swelling and for your breasts to look elevated. As you heal and the swelling decreases, your breasts will shift into the correct position.
Dr. Hunsicker will work with you to select your implant size range before surgery based on the results that you are looking for. Using your pre-operative measurements, she will order a range of implants before your surgery. She can use the sizing of breast implants to choose which permanent implant is right for you based on your input and her artistic judgment.
