Pre-Care Instructions
Maintain a diet rich in nutrients and drink plenty of water. Use our green smoothie recipe to prepare your body for surgery.
Stop smoking and drinking alcohol before surgery. Alcohol and tobacco can hinder your body’s ability to heal.
Post-Care Instructions
Arrange for transportation on the day of your surgery and for your next-day follow-up visit. Use prescribed medications as directed and inform Dr. Hunsicker immediately if you experience any bleeding, nausea, or vomiting.
Avoid putting pressure on your ears; this includes sleeping on your sides and wearing hats or headphones. Do not engage in strenuous activity or heavy lifting for 6 weeks.
Get plenty of rest to allow your body to heal. Keep your head elevated. Gently clean your incisions and pat them dry with sterile gauze.

She’ll position the cartilage into a fold and secure it with stitches inside the ear. Then, she will close the incision with more stitches or sutures.
Recovery from ear surgery can take up to 6 weeks. We recommend resting and giving your body plenty of time to heal. After 2 weeks, we will remove your stitches and monitor your progress with follow-up visits.
