Pre-Care Instructions
Properly prepare your home for recovery. Set up pillows and cushions to keep your head elevated.
Maintain a nutrient-rich diet and drink plenty of water. We provide a green smoothie recipe to help prepare your body for surgery.
Post-Care Instructions
Arrange transportation for the day of your surgery and for your follow-up visit the next day. Take time off work as needed.
Do not smoke or use tobacco products, as this can negatively impact your healing. Avoid bending over, heavy lifting, or strenuous activities during the first 6 weeks.
Keep your incisions clean and dry. Sleep on your back with your head elevated.
The incisions for this procedure may vary based on your desired outcome. Dr. Hunsicker can make incisions within or at the hairline, or in a natural crease. She then elevates and secures the skin to the appropriate position and removes excess skin or tissue.
As part of the process, she can partially remove or weaken the muscles responsible for vertical frown lines between the eyebrows. To conclude your surgery, she will place a combination of absorbable and nonabsorbable sutures. We remove these 2 weeks after your surgery.
